On the island of Vis, where the movie Mamma Mia 2 (Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again) was recently filmed, there's no vet. The cat population is out of control, and people take matters into their own hands. This includes poisoning, drowning, abandonment and who know what else. In addition to there being no vet, there's not much awareness around the practice of spaying and neutering.
Any progress that's made happens thanks to the efforts (and money) of compassionate individuals. The nearest vet is on the mainland, about two hours away. Because of this, getting street cats spayed and neutered is a time-consuming and expensive process. If you'd like to support this cause, please buy a STREET PUSSY T-shirt, or any other item from this shop. All proceeds go toward the spaying, neutering, care and feeding of the street cats of Vis.
